EU AID VOLUNTEERS
The EU Aid Volunteers Initiative will contribute to strengthening the Union’s capacity to provide needs-based humanitarian aid aimed at strengthening the capacity and resilience of vulnerable and disaster-affected communities in third countries by focusing on disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction and enhancing the link between relief, rehabilitation and development (LRRD).
This objective will be achieved thanks to the added-value and joint contributions of the EU Aid volunteers, expressing the values of the European Union and solidarity towards those in need, thus visibly encouraging a sense of European citizenship.
The different phases of the project
CERTIFICATION
Certification of Sending and Hosting Organisations willing to participate in the EU Aid Volunteers Initiative, in order to guarantee that these organisations comply with the EU Regulations (375/2014, 1398/2014 and 1244/2014), corresponding to the legal basis of the EU Aid Volunteers Initiative.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
This project aims at strengthening the Technical Capacities of potential future Sending Organisations to be certified and be able to participate in the EU Aid Volunteers Initiative.
CAPACITY BUILDING
This project aims at strengthening the capacities of potential Hosting Organisations to prepare and respond to humanitarian crisis and receive certification within the EU Aid Volunteers Initiative.
DEPLOYMENT
Deployment of junior and senior EU Aid Volunteers to strengthen and complement Humanitarian Aid Organisations and their projects in third countries, with the objective to strengthen the capacity and resilience of vulnerable and disaster-affected communities.
SENDING ORGANISATION
European organisations benefiting from the Technical Assistance Project (in order to be certified) and sending EU Aid Volunteers.
HOSTING ORGANISATION
Organisations in third countries benefiting from the Capacity Building Project (in order to be certified) and receiving EU Aid Volunteers.
