“MdM Deployment of EU Aid Volunteers 2019-2021” consisting, among others, of deploying EU Aid Volunteers in Humanitarian Action to the Hosting Organisations in the field, is a project led by Médicos del Mundo Spain in partnership with Médecins du Monde Belgium.
After a careful selection process, a number of EU Aid Volunteers will have the possibility to be sent to an NGO of their choice. The MdM field offices we are in Consortium with are the ones based in the following countries (2021 update): Palestine, Senegal, Mauritania, Bolivia, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Tunisia.

HOW IT WORKS
Pre-selection
After being pre-selected you will hold an online interview.
Training Selection
After the online interview, you'll be informed on whether you've been selected to take part in a 2-week EU training somewhere in Europe.
2-week training
The pre-selected candidates will participate in the online and classroom pre-deployment trainings.
The end of the process. The beginning of your journey as EU Aid Volunteer.
Whether you'll be deployed or not will depend on how you've done your training.
WHAT DOES THE EU AID VOLUNTEERS INITIATIVE OFFER?
1-Opportunities for European citizens to become EU Aid Volunteers in humanitarian projects worldwide, showing solidarity with those who most need it.
2-Professional support by trained and well-prepared volunteers to communities affected by disaster.
3-Capacity building for local staff and volunteers of organisations in countries hit by disasters.
4-Technical assistance for organisations based in Europe to strengthen their capacity to participate in the EU Aid Volunteers initiative. Individuals can apply to be deployed to humanitarian projects worldwide.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BE A VOLUNTEER?
To be an EU Aid Volunteer you need to be an EU citizen or long-term resident of an EU Member State and you must be a minimum age of 18.
Online volunteering will be open to volunteers of any nationality.
EU Aid Volunteers deployed to humanitarian aid projects will receive training, with accommodation and travel costs covered, and may have the possibility to undertake additional training at the HQ of one of our Sending Organisations (MdM Spain, MdM Belgium or MdM UK) before deployment.
